In the far reaches of the West Village sits Florent (212-989-5779, 69 Gansevoort Street), between Greenwich and Washington Sts, one of the first bistros to go where no other trendsetters had gone before: to the heart of the meatpacking district. The bustling 24-hour spot draws clubbers at all hours with its hangar steak, hamburgers and breakfast selections. Try the praiseworthy blood sausage, pork chops or mussels. On the weekend closest to July 14th, the restaurant takes over Gansevoort St for an open-air Bastille Day celebration.
